INPUT is a one-day festival located at the Media Park in Hilversum, the Netherlands, organized by NOS News, NPO (Netherlands Public Broadcasting) and the audiovisual museum Beeld en Geluid.

INPUT is organized on a yearly basis in order to inspire public broadcasting journalists and program makers, as well as confront them with new or striking productions from their own field, in the hope that this will stimulate more experimentation and innovation. The festival aims to bring together colleagues of different broadcasting organizations as well as invite the makers of selected films to discuss their process and choices with their Hilversum peers. INPUT also explicitly intends to allow professionals to interact and network with each other.

News Input 2009 drew 200 visitors, Mini Input 2009 was visited by over 100 people. On Monday 11th of October INPUT 2010 hopes to attract at least 350 interested journalists and program makers to the Beeld en Geluid building.

Film makers that wish to enter their film for the INPUT 2010 selection can contact the organization via input@nos.nl. We request that you add a synopsis and video link/dvd.

LIKE A MAN ON EARTH
In 2004 Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi came to an agreement with Libyan leader Moammar Gadaffi. In exchange for financial support from Italy the Libyan police promised to take strict actions against African refugees in order to control the immigration movements to Italy. But when does one cross the line between strict and unmerciful?
Like a man on Earth turns a critical eye on the extremely violent and sometimes fatal actions of the Libyan police against African refugees. Director Dagmawi Yimer draws on memories from his own crossing to Italy to warn for the inhumane consequences of cruel anti-immigration policy. Through touching testimonials from Ethiopian refugees this film gives a voice to those who paid a high price for coming to Europe. A confronting story of pain, human suffering and dignity.
